The galleries linked below provide a look at my collection of Guatemalan banknotes. My interest stems from the year I spent there while attending and then working in a Spanish immersion school. I've always been a collector at heart, though haven't collected much aside from a large CD collection since my childhood.
Being in Guatemala, seeing and using their colorful currency, and having some extra time on my hands sent me exploring the city for old men with old notes. It was a wonderful scavenger hunt for me and my only regret was not having more time or money while I was there to collect more.
Much of the collection has been amassed since my return from Guatemala, though the notes that I acquired while there certainly hold a special place in my heart. I hope to go down again to revisit the place that I loved so much, and to see if I can't track down some of those elusive bills that either don't present themselves often in the westen market, or, when they do, are too expensive for my wallet.
Please enjoy the following galleries - they are small, but bring me great joy. Feel free to email any comments or questions to the email link provided. I'm always looking for notes I don't have and for places to find them. Cheers. -Brad
